Fly fishing with Doug's Dad - June 27-30, 2009

Doug's parents came down to Jonesborough, TN to visit. The primary reason for the trip was to take Doug's dad fly fishing. He was an avid fly fisherman as a young man, but there are limited opportunities to fly fish in Ohio so he slowly lost interest.

On the first day we hit the South Holston River tailwaters and caught a ton of rainbow trout on sulfur dry flies. On the second day we paid Randy of Trout Fishers to take us fishing for Brook Trout on Hampton Creek. After hitting Hampton Creek we drove to Roan Mountain State Park for some traditional creek fishing. On the third day Randy took us on a guided float trip of the Watauga River where Hugh hit the Trout Trifecta and landed his Brown Trout along with his earlier Brookie and Rainbow.
