Interestingly, Rice University is contemplating a change to their athletic programs, and one of the options is to join the UAA! Click here for the McKinsey & Co. report that details Rice's options. It's a pretty interesting read if you're intrigued by athletic conference structure and economics. The report does a detailed listing of peers schools and has a great description of the "student athlete." The discussion of moving to the UAA starts on page 96 of the PDF file. Also, here is an open letter from the May 11 edition of the Chicago student newspaper encouraging the move to the UAA.
